LK Group and Korea Die-casting Industry Cooperative (KDIC) co-organized the 2020 golf championship
It is the first time to co-organize the annual event of the golf championship by KDIC and LK. The golf championship was successfully held in Cygnuss Country Club. There were more than 50 committee players from KDIC was attending to the event. The event aims to carry forward the spirit of golf, providing a welcoming environment against the pandemic of COVID-19 and the global economic crisis.
LK's co-operation with Korea
South Korea is one of the largest casting producers and automotive manufacturing. In 2015, the founder of LK, Mr. Liu was appointed to be the president of Hong Kong Foundry Association. He has always been actively promoting exchanges and co-operation in the aspects of technical expertise and industry information between KDIC and related industry of the two places, so as to facilitate the sustainable development of related enterprises and to help companies grasp the opportunities arising from the rapid economic growth.
In 2020, LK took the opportunity to commission order of 6000T and 4000T die casting unit from one of the customer in Korea. The die-casting machine was ordered for its factory in Vietnam and 4000T is now under the process of installation and commissioning. It is utilized semi-solid metallurgy processing to produce 5G telecom structure components for international well known’ Korean communication company. For 6000T, it is expected to start production in early 2021.
Tackling with global economic crisis by KDIC
Quote from the chairman of KDIC, Jang Seok-ki: "Currently, the Korean automotive die casting manufacturing market is facing a period of transition from traditional fuel vehicles to electric vehicles. Although the number of traditional die-casting parts has decreased, the demands of electric components have gradually expanded from the chassis, body, and other structural parts. It is required for a higher standard to the large-scale die-casting equipment.”
In response to the outbreak of COVID-19, the seminar reported that there are opportunities to drive the demands of large die casting machine to produce electric vehicle components. And they were promoting to launch smart factory which copes with the industry 4.0 of digitalization to remain competitive. With the benefits of engaging in create smart factories for the whole factory by combining these new technologies with its manufacturing know-how to connect the production process and the place of operations.
To expand the market of electric vehicle structural parts, there must be a strategic plan to ensure sustainable competitiveness on talent development. At this moment, the whole industry is eager for professional recruitment. Furthermore, they decided to cope with specialist education institutions to be in charge of that. Actively pursuing professional development ensures that knowledge and skills stay relevant and up to date. It also allows employees to be more aware of changing trends and directions in an industry.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Mr. Liu, founder of LK group, and Jim Liu, CEO of LK group, could not come to the scene to participate in the game. They brought greetings and blessings in the form of video.
Mr. Liu said, it is a great honor to jointly organize a golf tournament with the Korea die casting Association. In the global die casting market, South Korea and China play an important role. With the improvement of the global die-casting industry, the automotive industry has recovered and the development has also made breakthroughs. Whether it is in the field of technology or equipment, LK Group will fully support the development with Korea Die Casting Association.
Mr. Jim said, he felt fruitful to meet with the experts from the association in the factory open house in 2019. Despite the disease in the year, LK has achieved tangible results by the support from major enterprises in different countries.
In 2020, the global die-casting market gained momentum as the emerging industries such as automotive lightweight, new energy vehicles, 5G communications, and the capacity is still considerable. LK Group and Korea die-casting Association will continue to further cooperation with KDIC to promote technological advances and development of the die-casting industry in Northeast Asia.
